Trump and Cruz make the best of their forced embrace Posted: 22 Oct 2018 07:04 PM PDT In a move that would have seemed unthinkable two years ago, President Trump offered a full embrace, literally and figuratively, of Ted Cruz in a massive rally here Monday night, imploring a crowd of tens of thousands of supporters to turn out for his former political rival in a closely watched Senate race in Texas. |

Siemens CEO Kaeser says he will not attend Saudi investment conference Posted: 22 Oct 2018 10:21 AM PDT Siemens's chief executive said on Monday he would not attend a three-day Future Investment Initiative conference in Saudi Arabia after the country admitted that journalist Jamal Khashoggi had been killed in its consulate in Istanbul. The German engineering giant was one of the last companies to decide against sending its top executive to the conference after Riyadh sought to cover up Khashoggi's Oct. 2 death before admitting to a "grave mistake". "Siemens is a reliable and committed partner of the kingdom and its VISION 2030. |

Second migrant caravan in Guatemala heads toward Mexico Posted: 23 Oct 2018 04:15 PM PDT Trump has vowed to begin cutting millions of dollars in aid to Central America and called the caravan in Mexico a national emergency as he seeks to boost his Republican Party's chances in the Nov. 6 congressional elections. The caravan, mostly Honduran migrants fleeing violence and poverty at home, is currently in the town of Huixtla in Chiapas state, around 31 miles (50 km) north of the Guatemalan border and a distant 1,100 miles (1,800 km) from the United States. Mexico's government said in a statement on Tuesday that it had received 1,699 requests for refugee status, including children. |

‘Lyin’ Ted’ Gets Boost From ‘Sleazy Donald’ With Texas Rally Posted: 22 Oct 2018 01:18 PM PDT Trump's approval rating is split, even in red-state Texas, where Cruz faces an unexpectedly strong challenge from Democrat Beto O'Rourke. Monday's presidential visit, at the very least, is an awkward turnaround from an antagonistic history between Trump and Cruz. Trump insulted Cruz's wife during the 2016 campaign and even suggested Cruz's dad may have played a role in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. |
