California sues Corinthian Colleges for misleading students Posted: 10 Oct 2013 02:39 PM PDT SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - The state of California filed suit against Corinthian Colleges Inc for misrepresenting job placement rates to its students and investors, employing false and predatory advertising, and for securities fraud, according to a court filing on Thursday. The lawsuit was filed in San Francisco superior court on Thursday against the company and its subsidiaries that operate Everest, Heald and WyoTech colleges. The lawsuit, filed with San Francisco superior court on Thursday, accuses Corinthian - which describes itself as one of the largest post-secondary education companies in North America - and several subsidiaries of several counts including securities fraud, according to the filing.
