The House, starring Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell, gets Summer 2017 release Posted: 13 Nov 2015 12:03 PM PST Is it just us, or does Will Ferrell seem to be pals with every comedian on Planet Earth? He's teamed with a who's who of funny men and women in the course of his side-splitting career and he has just recently added another comedy heavyweight to his long list of silver screen co-stars. Ferrell is currently filming New Line's The House with comedienne Amy Poehler, and Variety is reporting that the film has secured a June, 2, 2017 release date, placing it smack dab in the middle of the summer movie season. Related: Universal Pictures snaps up Schooled, a comedy Amy Poehler is set to produce The upcoming comedy casts Ferrell and Poehler as parents who lose their daughter's college tuition fund and open an unsanctioned, underground casino in an effort to fund her education. Neighbors writer Andrew J. Cohen co-wrote the screenplay with Brendan O'Brien and will also direct the film. Summer Fridays are coveted real-estate in the movie world, so the fact that New Line has positioned the film so centrally suggests that they have quite a bit of confidence in the project. Throw in what sounds like a clever, funny premise, and Poehler/Ferrell fans have plenty to be excited about. For the time being, World War Z 2 , Cars 3 , and Kingsman: The Secret Service 2 are all scheduled for June, 2017 releases as well, but as far as comedies go, there doesn't appear to be much competition for the film as of yet. As castmates on Saturday Night Live, Ferrell and Poehler frequently appeared onscreen together, but this is the first time the pair has appeared in a film as the male and female leads. You can catch Poehler alongside gal pal Tina Fey in the upcoming Sisters , which will open opposite Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Dec. 18, 2015), while Ferrell's latest, Daddy's Home , is set to hit theaters this Christmas. |

The flurry of activity is just an exercise -- but one repeated across the country in hundreds of American school districts. "There are more options than sit and wait," says trainer Michael Kimball, a former police officer who says most shootings only last a few minutes and often end before the police turn up. |
