Kansas bill targets teachers who expose kids to 'harmful' materials Posted: 05 Mar 2015 02:17 PM PST Sparked by a middle-school sex education poster to which a parent objected, the bill is one of a series of battles – in Kansas and beyond – over such curriculum and the roles of parents and educators in determining what's appropriate. Where to Net Scholarships for Women at All Levels of Higher Education Posted: 05 Mar 2015 07:00 AM PST Since the first International Women's Day in 1911, one of those enduring achievements has been the effort to increase the number of women graduating from college. The Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund is the national education fund of the American Business Women's Association, and it offers nearly a dozen annual scholarships and essay contests. Whatever your major or grade level, the SBMEF scholarship listing should be one of the first places you check. Another women-in-business organization, Executive Women International, also sponsors a sizable scholarship. |
