Study Concludes a Third of Young Girls' Clothes Are 'Sexy' (The Atlantic Wire) Posted: 10 May 2011 08:16 AM PDT The Atlantic Wire - Any mom who's had the (dis)pleasure of raising a pre-teen daughter will probably say, "I told you so." A research team from Ohio's Kenyon College scoured the websites of 15 popular clothing stores to determine just how much sexy clothing is available for young girls, sizes 6-14. According to the abstract of their study, "sexualizing clothing was defined as clothing that revealed or emphasized a sexualized body part, had characteristics associated with sexiness, and/or had sexually suggestive writing." |
Flexible, E-Ink Mobile to Rival Smartphones in Coming Years (PC World) Posted: 10 May 2011 07:50 AM PDT PC World - Researchers from Queens University presented a flexible, e-ink display at the Computer Human Interaction conference that they believe could one day replace smartphones. Called the Paper Phone, the device isn't much thicker than a few sheets of paper and uses the same type of display found on the Amazon Kindle and other popular e-readers. |
