Critics challenge Baylor claim of no sex offenses in 4 years

Posted: 18 Feb 2016 04:31 PM PST

FILE - In this Monday, Feb. 8, 2016 file photo, Baylor students and alumni hold a candlelight vigil outside the home of Baylor University President Ken Starr in what organizers' call a "Survivors' Stand" in Waco, Texas. The event was held in an effort to urge changes to how the school handles sexual assault. The university did not report a single instance of sexual assault in a four-year span, according to federal statistics, a finding that represents a sharp contrast to multiple reports at two smaller private schools in Texas over the same period. A number of prominent liberal economists have also sharply questioned a recent analysis by University of Massachusetts-Amherst economist Gerald Friedman that estimates that Sanders' overall spending and tax increase plan would reduce the unemployment rate to 3.8 percent and boost the Gross Domestic Product by 5.3 percent – both highly ambitious goals.
