Chicago teachers union rejects 'serious offer' from district Posted: 01 Feb 2016 04:52 PM PST CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Teachers Union announced Monday it has rejected a four-year contract proposal, saying the offer does not address school conditions, a lack of services for some students or the fiscal crisis the nation's third-largest district faces.

Chicago Public Schools officials had been hoping to relay positive developments on its teachers' contract to potential buyers of its $875 million of bonds expected to sell this week.
