More colleges seek exemption from LGBT anti-bias rules, rights group says Posted: 19 Dec 2015 07:33 AM PST A growing number of U.S. universities are seeking religious exemptions from civil rights laws barring discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students, according to a report by LGBT advocacy group Human Rights Campaign. The group called on the Department of Education to make the exemption process more public so that students could know they might suffer discrimination at schools they choose to attend. |
German teachers want edited 'Mein Kampf' on curriculum Posted: 18 Dec 2015 05:34 PM PST Teachers' association in Germany says an annotated edition of Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf" should be taught in senior high school to help "inoculate" teenagers against political extremism. The Nazi leader's anti-Semitic diatribe has not been printed in Germany since the end of World War II, but an annotated and critical edition is set to be published next year. German authorities still plan to prosecute publishers of unedited reprints on charges of "inciting racial hatred". |
