NY charter school throws foster kids a safety net (AP)

The school is trying to chart a course for others nationwide with a program designed to give foster children better odds at a good future. The school is sponsored by a citywide private child welfare agency, the New York Foundling. Thus, there are always more than 200 counselors on call to help students individually.
