Iranian rescue workers on Tuesday pulled out the 43rd and last body of victims killed in a mine explosion after six days of round-the-clock digging, the state broadcaster reported. Illegal immigration across the US-Mexico border fell for the fifth straight month in April as the Trump administration's crackdown takes root, the Department of Homeland Security said Tuesday. In the first three full months since President Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20, just over 42,000 were detained, compared to nearly 133,000 a year ago. DHS spokesman David Lapan credited tougher surveillance and enforcement by the US Customs and Border Protection agency, but said they anticipate a possible uptick in coming months after the winter.

At least 40 people were wounded Tuesday when a car bomb exploded outside a supermarket in Thailand's insurgency-plagued south, police said, the largest attack for months on a civilian target in the troubled zone. The latest attack hit the town of Pattani around 2pm (0700 GMT), with two bombs going off outside the Big C, a busy supermarket near the town centre. "The second blast was a car bomb," Pattani police commander Major General Thanongsak Wangsupa told AFP.

Deer caught eating human remains for first time, say scientists

Scientists have discovered the first instance of a deer which eats human remains. The animal was caught mid-feast by a motion-sensitive camera at the Forensic Anthropology Research Facility at Texas State University, a 26-acre area where forensic scientists study how human bodies decompose in the wild. Deer are mostly herbivores, although they have been known to scavenge small mammals or birds and occasionally eat other meats.

The latest detention of a U.S. citizen by North Korea, which raises the number of Americans in their custody to four, is "concerning," a White House spokesman said, amid heightened tensions over Pyongyang's nuclear and missile programs. Kim Hak Song, who worked for the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology, was detained on Saturday on suspicion of "hostile acts" against the state, North Korea's official KCNA news agency said. Four U.S. citizens are currently being held in North Korea, a country with which the United States has no diplomatic relations and has technically remained at war with since the 1950-53 Korean conflict.

The iPhone 8 design everybody hates is back

There are two kinds of iPhone 8 design leaks out in the wild right now, and they're fairly similar except for one critical feature: the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. A new report indicates that Apple may be forced to go with the safer approach, which unfortunately just so happens to be the one that everybody hates.

Apple wants to integrate the Touch ID sensor within the layers of the new OLED screen, various reports have said, but the nascent technology may not be ready in time for this year's flagship iPhone 8. Hong Kong-based equity research firm CLSA wrote in a note to investors seen by MacRumors that Apple may end up placing the sensor on the back of the handset instead.

"iPhone to ditch fingerprint sensor? We don't think so," CLSA analysts Sebastian Hou and Brian Chen wrote. "Both Samsung and Apple tried to enable in-display fingerprint sensing on full-screen OLED phones in 2017, but their optical tech seems immature and the major iPhone 8 bottleneck."

The note continued, "Some thus speculate the fingerprint sensor will be removed and replaced by 3D sensing. Our latest supply chain checks indicate the iPhone 8 will still have the sensor given security, user-friendliness, and a need for payments infrastructure, but there is a high chance it will be on the back like Samsung's Galaxy S8."

CLSA went ahead and created a diagram of the iPhone 8, as seen above. The company believes Apple will use an all-screen design for the handset, and that it'll feature an advanced 3D face recognition system on the front as well as a vertical dual-lens camera on the back. The schematic above looks similar to some of the recent leaks that hit the web.

Designer Benjamin Geskin created a concept iPhone 8 based on the image above. Here it is — and let's just hope that it's way off base, because the front of the phone is hideous at the top, not to mention the fact that it would introduce several new manufacturing hurdles:

A report on Monday said the iPhone 8 will not be delayed, although it made no mention of the phone's design or the Touch ID sensor's location.

Major bank lists Tesla as top takeover target for Apple

Forces loyal to Libya's military strongman Khalifa Haftar on Monday launched an offensive to oust jihadist from their last two strongholds in second city Benghazi, they said. Forces loyal to Haftar, who does not recognise a UN-backed unity government in Tripoli and backs a rival parliament, have retaken most of the coastal city since it was overrun by jihadists in 2014. Riadh Chehibi, an officer in Haftar's self-styled Libyan National Army, said the forces advanced in the central district of Al-Sabri and Souq al-Hout area near the port, where jihadists are surrounded.
