HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Students at Connecticut's Trinity College have canceled a concert by rapper Action Bronson, saying his music and videos promote misogyny and hatred against gay and transsexual people.

The Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board (IELRB) on Thursday voted to ask the state attorney general to go to court to prevent what it called illegal strikes by the Chicago Teachers Union in the future. "The Labor Board's important ruling gives Chicago families more certainty that the CTU leadership cannot strike illegally whenever they want," Chicago Public Schools Chief Executive Forrest Claypool said in a statement. "The governor's labor board is prosecuting its war on workers," the union said in a statement following the Board's decision.

"Teachers and principals believe that evaluations based on student test scores, especially Value Added Measures (VAM), are neither valid nor reliable measures of their work," the survey reads. Meanwhile, evaluations linked to test scores are "having a disparate impact, contributing to a decline in teachers of color, veteran teachers, and those serving students in poverty," according to the survey.

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Kansas plans to delay major highway projects and cut additional spending at state universities, a top aide to Republican Gov. Sam Brownback announced Wednesday, after a new pessimistic fiscal forecast blew a hole in the state's budget.
