"High school is a different animal from middle school and elementary school so you have to get ready for it," says Susan Siemer, a social studies teacher at Crooksville High School in Ohio, who has been teaching for about 12 years. These are not available in the back-to-school aisle, but they can help new high school teachers start the year off on the right foot. Creativity: High school teachers may have to be a little more innovative when trying to keep students interested in learning, one educator says.
