The President announced 23 executive orders aimed at limiting gun violence today, even offering to fund armed police officers for schools that request them. But that still wasn't enough to meet the NRA's demands for more guns in schools, and the pro-gun group accused him of "ignoring children." Moody's now has negative outlook for all U.S. universities Posted: 16 Jan 2013 07:32 AM PST (Reuters) - Moody's Investors Service now has a negative outlook for the entire U.S. higher education sector, the rating agency said on Wednesday, citing "mounting fiscal pressure on all key university revenue sources." Since 2009, Moody's had had a stable outlook for market-leading, research-driven colleges and universities and a negative outlook for the rest of the higher education sector. The cash infusion, which marks the company's first outside funding, will allow the company to expand internationally, add new content areas, and improve its Web and video platforms, said Eric Robison, the firm's Chief Executive Officer. So when teachers at Garfield High School in Seattle voted last week to boycott a series of district-mandated tests, it was a rare step to resist the testing mania that has overtaken and damaged our public schools. |
