More than a quarter of high school kids have sextedThe issue of "sexting" has been widely covered by the media, but the practice of sending explicit images and text messages via mobile phones may be more common among minors than previously thought. A recent study of teen sexting conducted by the American Medical Association's JAMA Network found that 28% of high school students have sent nude images of themselves using a mobile phone. 31% of those surveyed admitting to having asked someone to send a naked picture of him or herself, and 57% said they had been asked to sext. Final Adjustments to Best High Schools Rankings

As discussed in detail in my May 30 blog post, "Adjusting the Best High Schools Rankings for Government Data Errors," the federal government found that data from the 2009-2010 school year for a small number of schools that appeared in the U.S. News 2012 Best High Schools rankings was incorrect. The information came from the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), which collects data from states for all public elementary and secondary schools annually and publishes that data on the Common Core of Data (CCD) website.

Canadian pension fund Teachers' to buy UK's Goals Soccer

TORONTO (Reuters) - Goals Soccer Centres Plc accepted a 73.1 million pound ($115 million) buyout offer from one of Canada's biggest pension funds on Friday, setting the stage for a possible bidding war over the British operator of recreational-football centers. The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan -- better known simply as Teachers' -- said Goals' board is unanimously recommending its all-cash offer to shareholders. The agreement with Teachers' comes roughly three months after the pension fund put forward a preliminary bid for Goals, which runs five-a-side football centers in the United Kingdom. ...
