If the current signs are any indication, Pennsylvania could be getting a budget approved before the end-of-June deadline for the second year in a row. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett and top Republican leaders have agreed on an outline of a $27.65 billion spending plan, which is different from the $27.1 billion dollar plan proposed by the governor in early February. The new budget could restore some funding to higher education and human services, but the exact details have not yet been released, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

A nearly $27.7 billion state budget taking shape in the Pennsylvania Capitol includes a substantial expansion of a tax credit available to businesses whose contributions can be used for scholarships to private schools, top state Republican lawmakers and legislative aides said Thursday.
