Immigration: Alabama AG balks at feds info request (AP)

The U.S. Justice Department is asking school districts in Alabama to hand over enrollment information about all their students as part of its lawsuit challenging that state’s tough new immigration law. AP - Colorado voters on Tuesday overwhelmingly rejected the nation's only statewide tax increase on ballots this year — a proposal to raise income and sales taxes for five years to revive schools decimated by years of budget cuts.
